On August 25th, 2009, in a Wrigleyville, Chicago Craigslist posting, a person reported that their apartment was robbed the day before, sometime between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. The victim notes that the robber left by the front door, taking an older, red Schwinn bicycle and some bags of electronic equipment.
While the author of the posting doesn't mention if a home security alarm was in place, they do explain that the area was heavily crowded with pedestrians during that time of the day, which goes to show how brash and arrogant the perpetrator was. Also, even though burglar alarms are not mentioned, the writer does note that the crime happened in broad daylight, and that a police station was just a block away.
