Also, if you plan on travelling throughout next year, you might like to know how GE is helping to make travelling easier and safer.

GE Enterprise Solutions has been working with every step of the airport system, from when the traveler comes into the airport, through any transfers, and until they arrive at their final destination. This helps keep the planes on schedule, and aids in transporting the luggage as well.

GE Security Helps Keep your Home Safe for the Holidays

17 December, 2008

Whether you stay home this holiday season, or travel away, keep your home safe with these helpful hints from the CEO of Security Solutions, Chris Villar.

  1. Choose safer, all-cellular monitoring—many individuals make the mistake of connecting their home security with their phone lines, but what happens when a thief cuts the lines? If you choose an all-cellular monitoring system, like GE Security, then you don’t have this problem. Villar added, “Once that phone line is cut, most alarm systems become just an expensive noisemaker. A system with the latest all-cellular communication technology provides unparalleled peace-of-mind when you’re traveling during the holidays.”
  2. Take control with interactive features—so you can adjust it to your every need. Instead of setting it and then forgetting it, utilize interactive features like email and text alerts. This lets you monitor the system while you’re away, from a computer or your phone. Villar said, “Interactive monitoring keeps you connected to your home no matter where you are.” He added, “If it opens, closes, or moves inside your home, [GE Security] can notify you instantly with email and text-message alerts.”
  3. Winter-proof your home without paying more—so you don’t need to worry about flooding or frozen pipes. A security system can monitor these changes so you stay on top of things. Usually this costs a pretty penny, but GE Security has you covered. Villar explains, “Many of the big home security companies tack on hidden monthly fees to monitor things such as water level, freezing temperatures or even basic essentials like smoke and fire.” If you are a GE Customer, you can “Monitor these and many other conditions at a single monthly rate—without any hidden fees.” He adds, “An intelligent system that can track conditions throughout your home, connect securely to our monitoring center and notify you instantly of system events gives you the peace of mind to enjoy your holidays away from home.”
