According to Kentucky State Police, an alleged burglar was shot and killed by homeowner, Hurlin McQuerry, this morning. Local authorities found Dallas Richard Helton, 40, on McQuerry’s property near Cartersville – dead.
According to Kentucky police officer, Chris Lanham, Helton attempted to enter the 67-year-old man’s home. Using a shotgun, McQuerry shot the intruder in the chest. The case will be brought before a local jury, but no charges will be filed against McQuerry. In Kentucky, residents are allowed to protect themselves against danger, but what about your state?
